Bikas spotted work underway on the new bike lanes on First Street and Main Street in Downtown Los Angeles. For detailed background on what the city of Los Angeles is calling the Downtown Bikeway Network, see this overview and this post on the new Los Angeles Street lanes.
Since last weekend, Main Street has been scraped, with the former right lane markings “erased”:
First Street, which received preliminary markings last weekend, now has the bicycle icons in the new lanes:

Bicyclist icons added to First Street. Lane strip markings are still preliminary versions, likely to be completed this weekend

The Orange Line extension mixed use path is completely paved. I went by after 6 PM on Friday night and there was a unfinished section that goes underneath the bridge at Lassen St, so I’m guessing that this work was done on Saturday.
There still needs to be a concrete sidewalk that would run along Lassen St which would connect to the path
The path is also missing some striping and very little of the landscaping has been done.
I’d certain count this as 4.2 miles of bike path that LA has completed in this fiscal year.
